Volunteering: It takes a great deal of work to keep the Muskoka Rowing Club running efficiently. Because the club is a non-profit organization, most of that work is performed on a voluntary basis by our own members. Each member who has opted for the “Muskoka Rowing Club Volunteer Program” (saving $100) upon registration must obtain 100 volunteer points throughout the season. Volunteering points are allocated based on the volunteer task. Volunteering activities include event planning, boat towel washing, general maintenance and repairs (with supervision), photography, and archive curating. Volunteering will be tracked and approved by the volunteering coordinator via Microsoft Excel to ensure everyone’s volunteering points are tracked accurately.
Those members not wishing to participate will pay the “non-volunteer fee”. Members who renege on their commitment will be charged an additional $100 at the end of the season.
