Safe Sport

Overview

Muskoka Rowing Club has a fundamental obligation and responsibility to protect the health, safety and physical and mental well-being of every individual that is involved in its rowing community.

Muskoka Rowing Club takes any situation involving misconduct or maltreatment very seriously; for this reason, Muskoka Rowing Club is committed to enacting and enforcing strong, clear, and effective policies and processes for preventing and addressing all forms of misconduct or maltreatment.

The Muskoka Rowing Club Safe Sport Manual contains policies for its rowing community. The policies are intended to promote a safe sport environment in a manner that allows for consistent, immediate, appropriate and meaningful action should any issues arise, but also to prevent issues from arising by communicating expected standards of behaviour to all participants.

Complaint Process

Rowing Canada Aviron and Row Ontario understand how important is to provide a safe and secure way of reporting issues that are impacting an individual directly or that they have become aware of. As required by Sport Canada, RCA has enlisted the services of an Independent Third Party, Gord Hopper.

To file a complaint you can email Gord Hopper the ITP for rowing at the itpcompliants@gmail.com.
